GAME SUMMARY: WARRIORS AT PATS

Game Summary: Warriors at Pats

It was another exciting hockey game Friday night where the result didn't favour the Moose Jaw Warriors. The Warriors fall 5-4 in the opener of a home-and-home with the Regina Pats at the Brandt Centre tonight.

The Pats would take the lead twice in the game and the Warriors would come back to even the score and then take the lead in the third. The road team would take their first lead of the game early in the third, only to have the Pats score two unanswered to snatch the victory.

Kenton Miller would score the first of his three on the night to pull his team to within one as the first period came to an end. Miller would get his second on the night early in the second to even the game. Regina would take the lead once again in just around the midway point of the second, but it was James Henry scored his 16th on the season to even the contest. Five minutes into the final period Miller would complete his second hat trick on the season by scoring his 34th goal on the powerplay. That man advantage goal would give his club their first lead of the game. The Pats would answer with their own powerplay goal and another to collect the win.

James Henry along with Kenton Miller led the Warriors offensive charge. Henry finished the night with a goal and two assists. Cody Beach, Andrew Johnson, Quinton Howden, Justin Kirsch, Dylan McIlrath and Joel Edmundson all had assists in the game. The Warriors powerplay finished the night 2 for 5 and the penalty killing was 3 for 4. The Warriors put 43 shots at the Pats goal. Luke Siemens stopped 17 of 20 shots.

The home-and-home series concludes Saturday night at Mosaic Place. Following the game, you, the fans, can skate with your Warriors. Bring your helmets and your skates to tour around the Mosaic ice with your team.

The next game for the Warriors is Wednesday night in Brandon. The final week of the season sees the club play two of the three games on the road to finish up the regular season. The first is against the Wheat Kings then the club travels north on Friday to Prince Albert for a home-and-home with the Raiders to end the season. Saturday is the final home game of the season.
